Kindergarten P.E. Curriculum
 

 

 

GOAL: The primary goal of Physical Education is to assist each student in the development of the attitudes, skills, and knowledge of human movement that will result in a lifetime of participation in physical activity.

Kindergarten students will:
Demonstrate social and safety skills and habits with respect to self and others
Demonstrate locomotor and non-locomotor movements
Demonstrate manipulative skills
Demonstrate basic tumbling skills
Demonstrate body awareness, spacial awareness, effort and relationships through movement patterns

Parents may assist their children by:
Encouraging sportsmanship during team play
Encouraging them to participate in extracurricular activities
Exercising with them
Monitoring them at play to improve social skills

The kindergarten physical education curriculum will provide the student with a variety of movement experiences and guided instruction. Assessment will include teacher observation on locomotor, non-locomotor, manipulative and tumbling skills.
