Finding Country Literature

Finding Country Literature

Begin searching for literature from your country doing a POWER search in OPAC

MYTHOLOGY:
Click on the POWER search icon. In the first open box, type in the name of your country. In the second open box, type in folklore, folk tale, fairy tale or mythology. Use one term at a time. Place all hits in a BOOKBAG to print.

If you use Kalamazoo Public Library or Richland Community Library, be sure do an advanced search and print the record to give to Ms. McConnell

You may also use the index and table of contents to search anthologies on the Mythology Cart in the LMC.

NOVEL or SHORT STORIES
Enter your country name AND the word "Fiction." The database will search for all record containing those terms. Then, you can examine each record to determine whether it is a novel or short story. Any title you like, drop into a BOOKBAG to print.

EX. Spain and fiction

You may also link to Kalamazoo Public Library's Catalog using the same search technique. Be sure to carefully examine each record (Is it fiction? Is the author from your country?).

When you have found a title you like, PRINT the record, write your name at the top, and give it to Ms. McConnell.

POETRY:

Use Granger's World of Poetry or Gale Virtual Reference/Poetry for Students to find a poet from your country.

If you use Poetry for Stuents, you will find the poem in full text and an explanantion as well.

ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS!
