Pronoun-antecedent agreement

Debbie argued her point well.

her= singular > Debbie

Debbie and Rose argued their point well.

their= plural > Debbie and Rose

Everybody put their books away.

their= plural, but everybody is a singular pronoun.

Therefore: Everybody put his or her books away.

Each student will write his/her own essay.

Subject Pronouns

I, you, he, she, it, we, they, whoever.

Her and I play tennis together

(She and I…)

Me and him are going swimming after school.

(He and I…)

Tom and me have to take a tough test tomorrow.

(Tom and I)
