GED Math Practice

Welcome to EMU's GED Math Practice Page!

During this EMU Facilitated GED Math Review Session you will be using McGraw Hill's Online GED practice, as well as other online and print resources. The book we will be using is Top 50 Math Skills for GED Success by McGraw Hill (ISBN-10: 0071445226) which retails for approximately $10.

The math section of the GED includes 50 questions of which you will be given 90 minutes to complete. For half of the test, you will be provided a Casio fx-260 SOLAR calculator. The math section of the GED is broken down into the following categories: Number Operations and Number Sense; Measurement and Geometry; Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability; and Algebra, Functions and Patterns. You will be provided a formula sheet to use during the test. You can click on the link to the "formula sheet" to see what is on it.

You will be taking McGraw Hill's GED pre-assessment and then your facilitated practice will be tailored to meet your specific needs for the topics you need the most work in. To begin the GED pre-assessment, click on the link to the right for "pre-assessment." You will be given 45 minutes to complete the practice test. You may use a calculator for questions 1-13. Good luck!

After your pre-assessment has been completed and a tailored study plan completed for you, please click on the chapter topic you need to work on. Read the chapter overview, outline, practice the flashcards, and then take the chapter review quiz and the GED practice quiz. PLEASE don't forget to email your results to your facilitator.
