Each student has an envelope with his/her classroom number on the front of it. Inside the envelope are four pieces of paper: green, yellow, orange, and red. Every morning, each student starts on the green paper. If a student is having difficulties following the classroom rules, the student receives a warning and changes his/her card to yellow. If further issues arise, the student will change his/her own card to orange which means he/she has to stay in for 5 minutes at recess. If the student needs to change his/her card to red then he/she has to spend 15 minutes in at recess and a call home will be made. Depending on the individual student slight alterations may be made to meet each student’s individual needs.
