The selected student will net $1,000 in pay. The student will be with the firm five days a week (M-F)for one month during the summer. With the input of Yates’ faculty and principal, Ronald Mumphrey, the firm will select a student between the junior and senior years in high school.
The student will learn to write “search engine optimized” stories in layman’s language about legal issue for the Internet (Mr. Adler’s website) with our Internet Editor Bruce Westbrook. Mr. Westbrook spent 24 years with a major metropolitan newspaper. Thus, the student will not only improve his or her writing skills, he or she will learn a valuable Internet skill.
The The internship provides the opportunity to be part of the staff of a major Texas law corporation and thereby gain an appreciation and understanding of how such firms operate and to make friends and supporters at the professional level.
