Ground Water- Water that soaks into soil and rock by collecting in spaces between rocks.

Watershed- region that contributes water to a river or river system.

Permeable- pores connect and water can pass through easily. Ex. Sandstone

Impermeable- Few pores or none connect. Ex. fine particles of clay. Water builds up because it does not pass through.

Water Table- The upper surface of soil and rocks that are filled with water.
