Luster - How a mineral reflects light: shine like metal or be dull, silky, or glassy.

Streak - A mineral’s color when it is ground into a powder.

Texture - A way to tell rocks apart by examining the size and shape of materials in the rock.

Structure - The way the pieces of materials in the rock fit together; it may appear to have grown together (crystalline) or may appear to be made of chunks or fragments stuck together.

Igneous Rocks
Igneous - Rock type formed when hot liquid rock materials cools and hardens into a solid. Some are formed when magma is pushed up, trapped, and cools slowly over centuries to form large crystals. These rocks formed from lava have a fine surface.
