Dear parents and students, The CST is upon us and we must seize the day! We have been working incredibly hard to prepare for this test. This test is of high importance and our Class Goal is to score Advanced both in Language Arts and in Math. We will earn a piñata for perfect attendance throughout the two weeks of testing, and everyone earns a piece of the “CST Party Pass Puzzle” for exhibiting great effort, attendance, and focus during testing. This will be an all-out fun celebration of our hard work complete with food, games, prizes, mural-painting, dancing, music, etc., etc. This is a class of high expectations. I want you to join me as we embark on an amazing journey of learning and academic accomplishments. Here’s a quick breakdown of our class. These next few months we will... Go through 20 Math Topics of our new program Envision Math (Pearson) and take four Quarter Assessments. We will cover several Open Court Units and take five Assessments. We will also prewrite, draft, edit, proofread, and publish (cursive and on Word), four separate Unit Writing Projects. We will utilize all of the depth and complexity icons to discuss our weekly Open Court stories at length, as well as other concepts and ideas found in all of our academic subjects. We will create approximately 20 Power Point presentations on our iBook G4 laptops and save all of our material on USB flash-drives. We will explore our solid Earth (Earth Science) and learn about the land of California (Social Studies). There will be singing, drama, and a great holiday program as well, and much, much more!
