THE ATMOSPHERE
 

 

 

The atmosphere is a thin layer of gas that surrounds the Earth. Thanks to the atmosphere, there exists life on our planet. Life exists because of the following fundamental features of the atmosphere:
-It maintains a constant tempurature.
-It protects us from harmful solar radiation.
-It produces the weather patterns that determine and condition life.
-It contains the gases that allow respiration and photosynthesis.

You must do the following activities in your notebook. You can find the answers in the links on the right:

1º.- What is the composition of the atmosphere?
2º.- Draw a diagram of the atmosphere´s structure.
3º.- Write the name of the layer or part of the atmosphere that answers the riddles:
a) I am where most of the weather occurs. Who am I?
b) I contain most of the ozone layer. Who am I?
c) I protect the earth from ultraviolet rays given off by the sun. Who am I?
d) I am where radio waves are bounced back to the earth's surface. Who am I?
