A lever is a type of simple tool. With it, we can lift objects we could not lift by ourselves! A lever is a rigid bar that pivots on a fixed point to help you lift something. There are terms about levers that everyone should know: Fulcrum – The point that the bar pivots on. Lever arm – The bar that you would push on. Load – The resistance to overcome, or what you want to lift. Effort – How hard you need to push down. Can you identify these terms in the picture above? |
