Show and Tell is a favorite activity and is an excellent opportunity for children to speak in front of the class, develop listening skills, and learn about interesting things. There are many other opportunities to speak in class during the day, so this is an optional activity. Parents can help select an appropriate item to share and discuss what your child might say. (What is it? How is it made or how did you make it? What materials did you use? Who helped you make it? How does it work? Where did it come from? Where do you keep it? Why is it special to you?) Some things to share: photos, things you made, an item from a collection, special award, artifacts/coins/poster from a trip. Please: No toys, Webkinz, DVD's, videos, CDs, or action figures. Remember: Show and Tell is on Fridays only. Your child must bring the item to school in his/her book bag. If your child forgets to bring something, please do not bring it to school. This is to ensure that the learning environment is not interrupted. Your child will have the opportunity to tell the class something. Remember the item must fit in the child’s book bag. Thank you for helping make this an enjoyable learning experience! |
