WRITING ACTIVITIES/PROJECTS: Research Paper Project: Worth 2 English Test Grades (final draft due on Wednesday, May 4 - turn in rough drafts, final drafts, and rubric in a two-pocket folder. Topic: foreign country of your student's choice Steps: 1) Choose topic - X 2) Gather sources - X 3) Write and type rough draft Works Cited - due on Wed., 3/30. -X 4) Write and type rough draft Outline - due on Wed., 3/30. - X 5) Note-taking on index cards - I will show you the format on Friday, April 1, and Tuesday, April 5. Research cards are due Tuesday, April 12. - X 6) Review parenthetical citations and devise format for each source. - X 7) Write rough draft research paper - intro, 3 body paragraphs, conclusion - goal: complete before Easter Break - will provide Tuesday, 4/26, class period to finish rough draft. 8) Edit and peer edit rough draft. 9) Type final draft - computer labs 4/27, 4/28, 4/29, 5/2, and 5/3. 10) Turn in final draft research paper - 5/4 - yahoo! 11) Celebrate with a foreign food feast - details are coming soon!
