Slice & Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies

 
 

(Makes 4 8 to 10 inch rolls)

2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 & 2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 & 2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1 T. vanilla extract
4 eggs
5 & ½ c. all-purpose flour
2 t. salt
2 t. b.s.
2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)

Cream butter or margarine and sugars together in a large bowl.
Beat in vanilla and eggs until light and fluffy.

In another bowl, combine flour, salt and b.s. Stir flour mixture into egg mixture until blended. Add chocolate chips and nuts.

Divide dough into 4 pieces. Shape each piece into an 8 to 10" roll.

Wrap each roll in waxed paper and then wrap in foil and place in an air tight freezer container. Place in freezer for up to 6 months.

For baking:
Slightly thaw dough before baking. Preheat oven to 350F.
Cut dough into 1/4 inch slices. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, about 1 ½ inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes or until browned around the edges. Remove from baking sheet and place on a cooling rack cool.
