Mobile Labs

Expectations

Seting Up:
1. Reserve a mobile lab by contacting Mrs. Doehler (sandra.doehler@jordan.k12.ut.us OR ext.2364) or Mrs. Landeen (brenda.landeen@jordan.k12.ut.us OR ext.2384)
2. Move the mobile unit only when the halls are clear, or with another person.
3. Always steer the unit from the end with the movable wheels.
4. Locate the mobile unit in your classroom where it will not be bumped or need to be moved,
5. Plug in the power cord. The lights on the timer unit should illuminate. You will not need to adjust the timer unit.
6. Please keep the lock's code secret. Once you open up the lock mix up the numbers and leave it open on top of the unit.

Student Use:
1. Each unit has 20 computers. The one marked as TEACHER can be used by students, but should be the one used by the teacher if needed.
2. Each laptop should be carried by two hands at all times. Make sure your students are very clear about this expectation.
3. Teacher is responsible for visually checking the condition of each laptop as it is checked out, and for recording who gets which laptop.
4. If students will be using the comuter longer than one day, have the same students use the same laptop each day.

Ending Each Period:
1. Teacher is responsible for visually checking each laptop at the end of the period and verifying that all are returned.
2. As each laptop is returned to the mobile unit, it should be turned the same way and its power cord reattached.
3. Shut the unit once all the computers have been returned and latch the doors. Lock it if you will not be using the laptops again right away.

At the end of your scheduled time please return the unit to the library.
