Dear Parents: I am in the process of updating these web pages for the students. The activities on the web pages will provide reinforcement of the skills they are learning in school. They can access the activities both at home and in school. On the left of each concept page you will find the standards for the Massachusetts Frameworks. These are the skills that the students are working on in class during the school year. On the right side of the page are various links. As new concepts are introduced, I will be adding new links and activities. The students will have opportunities to try many of the games and activities in school, so they will have an idea of how they work. Please understand that this is a work in progress and activities will be added gradually. I have tried to set up a variety of activities for my students, and hope that it will make learning and practicing the concepts more fun. Please encourage your child to play the games at home. Many of the activities are from a shared website and have been created by other teachers. I try to preview each game and activity that I link, but it is impossible for me to preview every question. There may be some errors. If there are, I apologize, and if you let me know, I will try to correct any errors. Another important aspect of this website is that whenever the students play a Quia Game or Activity, it will be recorded. We will be able to view a list of the games and activities played and the amount of time spent on a particular game, skill, or practice quiz. If a student has spent time playing the games or practicing skills, and taking the pre-tests, but still does poorly on a test, we will retest him or her in a different way (perhaps reading the questions to him, or asking the questions orally). On the other hand, if a student spends no time playing any of the games or practicing the skills, we will know why he/she did poorly.
