Supplies Students Need for Class-

Dance Folder:
For my class, Dance I/Dance II/Intro to Dance students will be keeping a dance folder to write down dance vocabulary and answer journal questions. Students will need a different color folder depending on which class period they have dance. Colors for folders are as follows:
1st period: RED
2nd period: BLUE
5th period: GREEN
6th period: YELLOW

*Advanced Dance Students will be using a 1 to 1.5 inch binder (due to the course being year-long instead of a semester)

Students will also need to provide their own dividers (two) and blank notebook paper (about 10-15 pages) to go inside their folders. Please also be sure to have a pen or pencil everyday in class to write with!

We will go over the proper way to set up dance folders during the second week of class. Students will utilize their dance folders almost every day and folders will be checked for a grade periodically.

Set Up of Dance Folder for Dance I/II/Intro:
1. First Page of Dance Newsletter (Handed out the first day of class)
2. Dance Vocabulary Pages
3. Divider
4. Blank Notebook Paper for Notes
5. Divider
6. Handout: Ms. Maxwell's tips for good writing
7. Journal Section- Journals should always be answered in 4-5 COMPLETE sentences (unless otherwise noted) and should answer the question logically and completely.

*Dance Folders/Binders are to be kept in class. Students should not need to take their dance folders home. If a student decides to take their folder home for any reason, it is his/her responsibility to keep up with his/her folder. Students will be given a study guide before vocabulary tests to help them study their dance words. Dance vocabulary will also be listed on Ms. Maxwell's website under the Dance Vocabulary pages.

Dance Clothes:

Dance will be a physically active class, therefore students will be expected to dress out EVERY SINGLE DAY for dance unless otherwise stated. Dance I/II/Intro to Dance students need a plain white T-Shirt and Black Pants/Shorts. Appropriate dress-out pants include: Yoga pants or Capris, athletic pants, basketball shorts, sweat pants, or Sofie shorts-ONLY when worn with tights or leggings underneath. Shorts that are shorter than knee length may NOT be worn alone and leggings may NOT be worn alone.
*Note: Craft stores often sell plain white t-shirts for very cheap.

Advanced Dance Students will need a black tank leotard and black yoga pants or capris to wear over their leotard. I will send home an order form for the black leotards we will be wearing.

Hair should be tied back and/or secured away from the face. Dangling jewelry should be removed including necklaces and large earrings (This is a safety issue!). Finally, I strongly encourage students to bring their water bottles to class with them. Due to the short class periods, students will NOT be allowed to leave class to go to the water fountain so it is beneficial to bring their own water bottle to have nearby.
