The grading policy for this class will be as follows: 50% Participation/Dressing Out (This includes Dress Out Grades, in class group choreography projects, and notebook checks). 20% Tests 5% Quizzes 15% Performances 10% Homework *Students will receive a dress-out grade approximately every ten days. Each day of dressing out will be worth 10 points for a total of 100 points every ten days. It is extremely important for students to dress out for dance. Should a student be absent during a 10 day dress out period, their dress out grade will be calculated as a percentage of the number of days they were present in class and were dressed out. *Students will be given the opportunity to make up missing work for up to 50% of the original credit after it is more than two weeks late. Five points will be deducted each day from assignments that are turned in after the due date and are less than two weeks late. Students who are absent may make up missing work within a reasonable amount of time once they return without penalty of being late. The amount of time given to make up work can be discussed on an individual basis and will be determined based on the number of days a student was absent from school. Should a student be absent from my class it is the student’s responsibility to get their make up work from that missed class. Students must be sure to also complete any missing vocabulary/journals in their dance notebooks from when they were absent. |
