French Toast

 
 

¼ C. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 T. Vanilla
½ c. milk
8 slices of thick bread (Texas Toast)

Beat eggs in a bowl with a wire whisk. Add sugar, milk and vanilla, beat until blended. May add a small amount of cinnamon and or nutmeg to egg mixture if desired. Dip a slice of bread in egg mixture, coating both sides. Cook on a hot griddle until brown on both sides. Serve with butter and syrup or sprinkle with powdered sugar instead.
