Introduction

What makes The Beatles so attractive? How did they become famous? Why did they split up? Why have they been more influential than any other group in pop music? Why have they had such an impact around the world? Why are they still listened to all over the world? In 2012 the Beatles’ birthday and the release of their first single, Love Me Do, were celebrated; and 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of their debut album, Please Please Me. You are going to help other students learn about this group, which is legendary in pop music.

Prepare an oral presentation about one of these aspects:

1. The story of The Beatles.
2. The albums.
3. Cultural and musical context. Other contemporary groups.
4. The Beatles after The Beatles.
5. The Beatles in films and documentaries.
