The purpose of this module is to help you gain a better understanding of the teacher's role as it relates to classroom management. This self-paced lesson, which draws on valuable links and handouts, will provide you with: (1) an overview of the ten InTASC standards; (2) an in-depth look at standard #3--Learning Environments; and (3) an in-depth look at the four NIET indicators specifically related to classroom management. Later in the module, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your own strengths and weaknesses with regard to InTASC standards #3 and the four NIET indicators. By the end of this module, you should be able to: 1. List several InTASC standards. 2. Describe the knowledge, skills, and dispositions included in InTASC Standard #3. 3. Describe the criteria included in the NIET indicators related to classroom management and motivation. 4. Identify your strengths and weaknesses around classroom management and motivation. 5. Identify actions that you can take to improve. |
