Our Flat Buddies have been mailed to their hosts. We have started reading Charolett's Web by E. B. White. We are learning about real pigs and springtime on the farm. The students learned about Dr. Seuss and how he wrote the story The Cat in the Hat. During science we have observed our plant cuttings are beginning to grow roots in the water. The potatoe eyes we planted have sprouted and are large enough to transplant to a larger pot. We hope to grow many potatoes. Ask you first grader about the book called Two Old Potatoes and Me by John Coy. We started a new unit entitled Solids and Liquids where we began with discusing properties of solid matter. During math we continue to practice/memorize addition facts. The quarter has been added to our practice of counting combinations of coins . |
