Solid Fuel Engine Rocket

Objective: To build a solid fuel engine rocket; and design a poster which explains the history of rockets, one of the chosen space mission and a future space shuttle launch.

Requirements/Materials:
- Use a poster board to display your research.
o Draw or paste an illustration of the rocket built by you (and your partner). Label the important parts of the rocket.
o Include the objective on the poster.
o Include an explanation of the laws of physics involved in the functioning of the rocket.
o Choose one of the space missions and one future space shuttle launch of your interest (e.g. Challenger, Columbia, and Atlantis) and support your research with pictures/illustrations. Past and current space missions can be found on the NASA website, for more information use the links to the right.
- All of your research should be typed or written neatly as bulleted information. Try to find appropriate pictures to support your research!
Grading:
- Airframe/Build Day 1 (worth 50 total points)
- Engine Mount/Build Day 2 (worth 50 total points)
- Poster Content (worth 90 total points)
