Museo Picasso Malaga Introduction The Picasso Museum of Malaga is an art gallery dedicated to Pablo Picasso in his hometown. Together with the Birthplace Foundation (La Fundacion Casa Natal), it is one of the most visited monuments in the city. Task The students of 4th course will organise a visit to the museum and guide the students of 3rd course. In order to make the most of the visit, they will explain some interesting facts about the artist, the building, and they will speak about some of the artwork that you can visit in the museum. Process • We will start with an initial exhibiton where we will learn about Picasso as one of the most relevant artists of the 20th century • We will study the basic vocabulary of the topic • Elaboration of proposal • Interview with Picasso • A trip through his most relevant works and styles • We will study some of Picasso’s contemporary painters • They will give the visitors a brochure with information about the visit and basic rules for visiting a museum • We will learn about the building that houses the collection • The students will show us 3 significant artworks of the Picasso Museum • We will visit the Birthplace Foundation (La Fundacion Casa Natal) FOR THE VISITORS • After the visit they will prepare a quiz to see what they have learned from the assignment • In groups, they will create a poster with photographs, postcards, and information about the visit FOR THE GUIDES • Keep in mind the evaluation rubric on the following page Credits The students of 3rd and 4th courses of IES Jardin de Malaga The school’s English Department The staff of the Picasso Museum of Malaga and La Fundacion Casa Natal |
