Advanced Dance Warm Up- Fall 2018 Song: “Water Under the Bridge” by Adele (R= right, L= left; (0:00) denotes time in the song where section begins) (Start standing in a circle formation)(0:00) -From hanging over, roll up in the spine to standing (1-4), upper body circles around to the right (5-8), roll back down in the spine again (1-4) and roll back up (5-8) -Step into 2nd position, side stretch to the right (1-2), plié in second position and hang over/look down (3-4), side stretch to the left (5-6), stand up in 2nd (7-8); Reverse to the other side going L first (1-8) -2 grande pliés in 2nd position (1-8); arms swoop up and under and into a V-position (1-4), plié (5-6), tendu the right leg and close feet into 1st position (7-8) -Tendus en croix (with spirals) on the R side (1-8, 1-8)(0:30), Repeat on the L side (1-8, 1-8) -Roll to the floor to the R and swing the L leg (1-8, leg swing on count 5-6); roll back around and come up to standing (1-8)(0:50); Repeat on the L side rolling to the L -4 prances around the circle counterclockwise (1-4), jump in parallel position/first/parallel/first (5-8)(1:11); Repeat again (1-8) -4 prances forward (1-4), prance outside the circle in a loop (5-8); Repeat again (1-8) -Body swing front (1-4) weight shift forward into the circle R and L (5-8) -Parallel passé the R leg with round arms overhead and open to the side (1-4) and pas de bourrée turning back around self with the L leg crossing behind -Melt down through the spine (1-8), R leg into passé and R arm overhead like a side fall (1-2), fall into a side lunge R (3-4) shift weight onto the L leg (5-6) and back up to standing in parallel (7-8)(1:41); Repeat other side (1-8, 1-8) -R leg lunges forward (1-8), L leg lunges forward (1-8) -Repeat prance combination around the circle again (32 counts)(2:11) -Four piqués facing inside the circle to the right (no turn)(1-8); four piqués to the L facing outside the circle (1-8)(2:31) -While still facing the outside of the circle, roll to the floor and swing the leg to the L and roll back up (16)(2:41); Repeat to the R side (16) -Prance either into the circle (group 1) or out of the circle (group 2) four times and then back into the larger circle (1-8)(3:02); Reverse and do the opposite (dancers who went into the circle first now go back out of the circle) (1-8) -Body swing front (1-4), shift weight R and L (5-8), passé R and open side (1-4), pas de bourrée the left leg back behind self and turn around (5-8); Repeat on the L side again (16) -Everyone prance into the circle four times (1-4), prance out of the circle (5-8); walk into the circle and connect hands with everyone and fold over to end |
