Greetings, I hope you all had a terrific vacation and are as excited about the new school year as I am. I look forward to hearing what the Lord has done in your life over the summer. Remember that on the first day of school you need to bring in your summer reading project. I have heard from many of you about the books you chose, and I'm sure you've enjoyed them. This year we will be starting with a unit literary devices, which will be observed throughout all of our novels: "Golden Boy", "the Pearl", "Watership Down", and "Julius Caesar". Language arts will also include grammar, various types of writing, and a poetry unit. Science this year will be physical science. This particular course lends itself to a lot of hands on labs. In Bible, we will be starting with "What is a Christian World View", which is a unit that usually lasts well into the semester. Mrs. Kindred will be the middle school history teacher, teaching old world history. Our class ministry is LOL, in which we will put together a Gospel presentation involving juggling, illusions and skits. I am working on creating this year's script, and, as always, we will strive to have at least one show per month. My class web site can be found at http://poster.4teachers.org/worksheet/view.php?id=182943 and there you will find your daily homework, vocabulary contract and list, product descriptors, and other important information. If you have questions about anything, please e-mail me at: Rhagerstrom@windhamchristian.org Thank you, Mr. H |
