2004 – 2005 Science Fair Project Timeline * = DUE Date Other dates are suggestions (1-x weeks) is GSDSEF recommended amount of time that an activity may take Deciding on a project- (1 week) Science Fair Project Signed Contract due no later than 20 Sept * Background research- “Review of Literature” (2 - 3 weeks) START reading by 3 Sept Form a hypothesis/design procedures- (1 week) 24 Sept Complete experimentation plan (procedures) due for teacher approval before starting, no later than 4 Oct * Background research: “Review of Literature” & Bibliography, Rough draft due 15 Oct * Experimentation- (4 - 8 weeks), take photos and do a daily log (appendix), ‘quantify’ and organize data 1 Oct-1 Dec Final Draft Pages of Title, Question, Hypothesis, Materials, Procedures & Variables due 25 Oct * Last Rough draft of “Review of Literature” due no later than 1 Nov * Final Draft of Background Research: “Review of Literature” & Bibliography due 8 Nov * Writing the project report notebook- (1 - 2 weeks): 1 Dec-6 Jan Start write-up of results: tables & graphs 1 Dec Rough draft of Introduction & Abstract due 1 Dec * Rough draft of results, analyze, tables & graphs, conclusion due 6 Dec * Create PowerPoint presentation (2-3 weeks) 20 Dec – 18 Jan Recommendations & Acknowledgements due 7 Jan * Building a display board- (1-2 weeks) 30 Dec – 18 Jan Project Report Notebook due 10 Jan * Science Fair Project Board due 18 Jan * PowerPoint Presentation & Oral Presentation due (Video-Taping) 18 Jan * Science Fair Project GSDSEF Screening 2 February 2005 * School Wide Science Fair 16 February |
