yo hablo / nosotros hablamos
I speak / we speak

tú (informal)hablas / vosotros habláis
you speak / all of you (informal) speak

usted habla / ustedes hablan
you (formal) speak / all of you speak

él habla / ellos hablan
he speaks / they speak

ella habla / ellas hablan
she speaks / they (females)speak

This is called "conjugating" a verb. Most of the verbs that end in "ar" follow this pattern. Take off the ar ending, to get the stem (habl) then add the ending that goes with the person who is doing the action. Example:

  • primera persona, singular: Yo hablo español. = I speak Spanish.
  • segunda persona, singular: ¿Tú hablas español?.= Do you speak Spanish?
  • primera persona, plural: Nosotros no hablamos español. = We don't speak spanish.
  • tercera persona singular: Rosa habla español. Rosa speaks spanish.
  • tercera persona plural: Ana y Marta hablan español. Anne and Marta speak Spanish
