EE teacher trainer Dale Garside |
Dear EE trainers or associates, ANNOUNCEMENT I am writing to 31 of you who have been actively involved in EE in the First Alliance Church of Toccoa. The reason for this letter is to announce to you that EE is beginning its semester this week. It will last 14 weeks. Please refer to the EE link to the schedule. INVITATION We, the teachers of the course, would like you to be involved if your schedule permits. You are invited to attend the classes if you need a refresher course, especially the EE associates. And you are especially invited to help us with EE visits. Finally, it is not too late to recruit more EE trainees, so please network with your contacts and see if anyone in our church would like to be involved in the training. They should be recruited within the next two weeks. CURRENT ENLISTMENT We currently have 8 trainers available for 20 trainees, that is 8 teams of three people each. We are short two trainers. As trainers are added, we can invite more trainees to be involved. PRAYER PARTNERS Each trainer is asked to have one or two prayer partners with whom he or she can pray and report once a week on what is going on in the EE ministry. CONTACTS Each team is responsible for making its own contacts each week. Ed Pottorff will make sure each team has a running list of contacts as the church asks us to visit them (Angel Tree, The Book, visitors, benevolent fund…). We are hoping the deacons will give us “deliveries” to be made to those seeking material help with the understanding that we would like to minister spiritually by sharing the Gospel or having a Bible study with them. COURSE The class will meet during the Sunday School hour from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M in a designated classroom on the lower right wing stairs corner of the family life center. It will also meet on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 P.M. at the Forkey home on 130 W. Tugalo St. LITERATURE The EE literature is in Ed Pottorff's office, and he usually leaves the door open. Each team should have at least one small Bible, three green booklets (Do You Know for Sure?) and three red booklets (Partners in Growth) on each visit. VISITS At this point, we will visit homes at 6:45 P.M. on Monday (meet at Forkeys) and Wednesday (Meet in sanctuary EE room), but this may change as we get feedback on availability of trainers and contact needs. We can use as many trainers as are available, especially women. You can pick the night of your choice. You can also form a team at other times if two other people (trainer or trainee) are available. Monday evening: Dale Garside will lead a team. Wednesday evening: Matt Harner and Jim Hoobler will lead teams. PRAISE REPORT: WRITTEN REPORT OF RESULTS Dale Garside will ask all EE trainers to send in results each week, via email, by the report form on the Internet, or by leaving written reports on the office ledge with Dale Garside's name on them. Statistics will be registered on the web as they come in. Conversions and prayers for assurance will be reported to the church office. Contacts to be discipled will be reported to the Network, and hopefully, a joint visit can be arranged with the new disciple by EE and network leaders jointly. Please refer to the attached file for a detailed visit report. Here is the link for an online report form to be filled out: http://www.osbornewood.com/dale/report.php AN EE WEBPAGE I have made a very simple webpage for EE Toccoa. I encourage all of you to check out the EE web pages I have gathered on this page. There are syllabi, assignments, readings on the EE presentation, archives of people involved in EE, and a list of those currently involved. Here is the link: http://wizard.4teachers.org/builder/worksheet.php3?ID=41316&page=3 COMMUNICATION Trainers should contact their trainees, set up their contacts, and let prayer partners know at least once a week what is going on before and after EE visits, as well as pray with them. I encourage you to recruit prayer partners from members of our church, especially those who have been involved in EE in the past, but cannot do so due to conflicts in their schedule. SCHEDULING CONFLICTS Please be flexible, especially in the early weeks. Trainers should know that if a trainee does not show up, simple look for another from the list below. Some may be able to go out twice in the week, others may have a scheduling conflict. Our goal is that everyone make at least 10 visits during the semester. If you must change dates, please try to find a replacement to take your place. Also, let your trainer or trainees know as soon as possible.
