First, I want to thank you for taking the time to be interested in your child's education and visiting my web page. I appreciate your support and communication, as we all know, it takes a community to raise a child. You have our teachers with the very valuable job of preparing your child for high school, college, and work in the real world. I feel very strongly that the skills students learn in middle school are the foundation for which the rest of their academics rely on. Below are some tips to keep you informed: > Encourage your student to get 2-3 telephone numbers of other students in the class. These people could be their "study buddies" whom they can call if they were absent and need information, if they didn't understand an assignment, or if they need further clarification. There really is no excuse for a student to say "I didn't get it." > E-mail is usually the quickest way to contact a teacher. They check it at least once daily. Please feel free to e-mail me at any time with any concerns, questions, or feedback: aniebauer@wcpss.net A TEACHER'S WISH LIST: Often times parents ask how they can help out. So instead of asking/begging (as we all know teachers don't make the same salary as Bill Gates) I have listed some items that we tend to run out of throughout the year. Whatever you can donate is GREATLY appreciated. It helps to have a supply to meets the needs of our growing population of students. We are frequently in need of: -pack(s)of zerox paper -dictionaries/thesaurus (any kind) -Young adult novels for Literature Circles (Titles: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins & Mockingjay by same author, Tangering by Edward Bloor, Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson, The Book Theif by Markus Zusak) -pencils -any kind of incentive type gifts to help us reward students: gift cards, stickers, candy, games, etc. Thank you so much for your support! Together we can make this a great year. |
