This is my 12th year teaching. Act appropriately. Participate fully in all classroom activities. Follow directions the first time they are given. Personal grooming should be done in the restroom. CONSEQUENCES Warning Lunch Detention Parent Contact After-school Detention Referral to Administration *Depending on the severity of the offense, consequences may not occur in this order. MATERIALS LIST 3-ring loose leaf binder (with loose-leaf paper) OR 1-subject notebook Pocket folder Graph Paper & Straightedge (beginning around 2nd nine weeks) Pencil Pen/Highlighter/Colored Pencil *Bring these materials every day! GRADING CATEGORIES DAILY and HOMEWORK (30%): there are usually about 15 of these, making them appx. 2% each QUIZZES (30%): there are usually about 5 of these, making them appx. 6% each TESTS (40%): there are usually 2 or 3 of these, making them appx. 13-20% each HOMEWORK POLICY Homework MAY or MAY NOT be graded Even if homework will not be graded, you are still expected to do it to get the extra practice needed Homework will NOT be graded for EFFORT or COMPLETION If homework is graded, it will be spot-checked for accuracy Homework will NEVER be graded if it is the FIRST practice opportunity for a new skill DUE DATES/LATE WORK POLICY Our school has adopted a policy of not giving zeroes This means that work WILL be completed, even if lunch detention or after school detention is assigned Assignments turned in past the due date will be penalized 10 points per day (unless for an excused absence), for up to 5 days If you need to go to your locker to get an assignment, you will receive a 5 point penalty The maximum points deducted is 50 ACADEMIC DISHONESTY POLICY Cheating is defined as attempting to receive academic credit for work that was not personally done or for knowledge not personally mastered OR helping someone else receive academic credit for work that was not personally done or for knowledge not personally mastered. If a student is found cheating: the assignment will be confiscated An alternate assignment will be given during lunch detention or afterschool detention The grade on that assignment will be divided by two (or halved). Parents & administration will be notified. |
