Fifth Grade Fun

This year we started with a study of Chinese music. We were able to perform "Weng Jian Vu" at the PTST meeting in September.
It was a beautiful rendition with singing, instruments, and dancing. Thanks to Joey Casali for his recorder solo.

We are now into a study of more complex rhythms, including syncopation.

We are also enjoying a "Native American Rock Passing Game".

After our great performance on the Christmas Program we started our unit on jazz. We are learning to improvise in a 12-bar blues style. On Feb. 13th we will go to Clemson to hear the C.U. Jazz Ensemble.

See page 11 for details of the the Fifth grade instrument project.
