You will begin your journey in the library, researching your individual, examining his/her contributions & connecting the work autobiographically/biographically and/or historically; you will end this project by conducting a class lesson on what you have learned and writing an response. The first part of this project will be a group grade, so the success of your lesson will be determined by your ability to work as a team. PART I Steps: Research your individual and his/her work Create a bibliography of the sources you use (this will go directly on your lesson plan) Write a bio of your figure to share with the class (include with materials) Analyze at least one major work produced by your individual as a team; make connections to the era and/or his/her biography Decide how you will conduct your class lesson/ step-by-step procedure Visual aids should include a copy of the work analyzed and a poster/Power point (print out of slides) Create detailed lesson plan (see format) Reflect on your lesson & your groups performance after you have conducted your lesson & assessment (*to be graded individually) *Your group will need to plan for 15 minutes. You will be expected to teach for the duration of this time but will not be allowed to exceed it. About the preparation It is imperative that you not only work as a team but carry your weight as an individual. A good plan will help facilitate this early on. Decide on your roles and what you could best contribute to this group About the class lesson Each of you should be a teacher of, at least, one aspect of this lesson. The lesson should be conducted in three parts: Pt. I: Introduction (Essential Questions/Core Information and BRIEF biography) Pt. II: Lesson (analysis/interpretations/connections/discussion Qs) Pt. III: Wrap Up (overview) ** If you have hand outs, I will be happy to make copies if originals are given to me at least 24 hours before your lesson Research the assigned individual(s) and complete a max one page, typed study guide that can be photocopied and distributed to your classmates. It should include: 1) Brief/Essential chronological biography, including main works or contribution 2) Key points/Themes. These may be bulleted. Summary of major influences and impacts of his/her works. What lasting contributions did your individual make? Remember, the purpose of this exercise is to divide and conquer. Your classmates are relying on you to do a good job. Therefore, those freeriders that shortchange the group by not completing the assignment will be graded harshly. Romantic Figures: 1.
