First date for 2006-2007 to be announced soon! Healthy Learners is a non-profit organization that assists in meeting the health needs of many of our children. They arrange appointments, sometimes providing transportation to those appointments, in order to provide vision exams, dental care, doctor exams, medication, counseling and other services. Healthy Learners fills the gap for parents who have experienced temporary financial difficulty and for those whose insurance coverage may be insufficient due to recent family structure or employment changes. Healthy Learners also assists parents during the time that Medicaid applications are being processed. During last school year, Healthy Learners assisted in caring for the health needs of 22+ of our students. Services have included coverage for dental appointments, doctor appointments, medications, transportation to appointments, eye exams and glasses, hearing exams and counseling sessions.
