Hello from Coach Hills I am a graduate of Ottawa University where I majored in PE. During high school and college, I played on the school Basketball Team. I believe this experience was a major factor in my career choice. Prior to teaching at St. Elizabeth’s, I taught and coached for 24 years in the Basehor Linwood School District. My responsibilities included teaching K – 12 PE and Health. I was also the Boys Head High School Basketball Coach all 24 years. In addition, I served as the Head Track and Cross Country Coach. My wife Katie and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this past summer. Katie has been employed by GE for 35 years. Our oldest son John, who was married this past summer, is a graduate of KU. He has his masters in accounting and is currently employed in that field. We have 2 other son’s; Jake, 23, a 2nd year law student at St. Louis University and Jeff, 20 who just began his 2nd year at KU. I was very fortunate to join the outstanding St. Elizabeth’s staff in 2000 and since then it’s been an exciting and rewarding experience for me. Being the PE teacher is a blessing as I get to know and interact with all of St. E’s children! In addition, during the summer months, I direct “Camp Shamrock” which is a 10 week all day summer enrichment program here at St. Elizabeth’s. |
