Low Cost Tech Resources for Families Did you know that all VT residents are elegible for a free internet dialup connection at home through govnet? These accounts are not intended for general web surfing but to connect you and your family to your government and schools. Contact the VT State Library at 802.828.3261 to apply. Inexpensive, internet-ready, used computers can be obtained from Vermont State Surplus Properties which is located on Route 2 just east of the CV Landfill. Call them weekdays 9:00-4:00 at 828-3394 to find out what they have and to get directions. Technology Integration Technology integration is about making effective use of computers and other types of information technology in the classroom. Here at Berlin education technology resource teacher Steve Owens works as part of a team with librarian Pat Nelson. Steve supports and trains classroom teachers in order to help achieve the best possible educational results from our community's investment in technology About Steve Owens Steve Owens has been with the Berlin School since 1993. Until September 2002, he was the instrumental music teacher. Since then, he been the education technology resource teacher. He has taught music at the Calais Elementary School since 1991. He has also been the band director at Whitcomb High School. Steve's undergraduate degree is from the Rochester Institute of Technlogy. He holds a Master of Science in Music Education from Central Connecticut State University. A composer, his works for band, chorus, and chamber ensemble are published by Shawnee Press of Delaware Water Gap, PA and Alry Publications of Charlotte, NC. |
