Step 2: Do your Experiment


Experiment
After your experiment has been approved by be me, then you may begin to do the experiment. You will have 3 days total for the experiment.
  • One day to set it up and take your initial (before the experiment) measurements. These measurements will act as your control that you can compare your final results too.
  • One day to take measurements
  • One day to take final measurements, clean up your lab, and begin analyzing your results/writing the last steps of your lab report
Analyze the Data
  • Organize your data into a table, chart, and/or graph
  • Answer the following questions
  1. What happened to the carrot in the salt water? Why?
  2. What happened to the carrot in the fresh (distilled) water? Why?
  3. How did your experiment go? Is there anythign you would change in the future to make it run more smoothly?
  4. Do you think your measurements were accurate? What way of measuring would be the best?

Conclusion
In your conclusion, please include the following:
  1. Accept or reject your hypothesis.
  2. Tell WHY you accept or rejected your hypothesis. Use your data to prove your point. Remember, this is not "because I was correct" or "because I was wrong"! You need more detail!
