We have just finished reading the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This book is full of universal themes and ideas. The themes that we have talked about in class include prejudice, courage, and life lessons. To connect these themes to other historical figures, you will use this webquest to create a powerpoint about taking a stand, and fighting for what you believe in.

In groups of two you will research and create a PowerPoint. Partner A is resposible for the notes about 2, 5, and 6. Partner B is responsible for the notes about 3, 4, and 6. Both partners will be responsible for their own notes and opinions for 6.

In the your notes and PowerPoint must address these key points:

1. introduce your topic. (title, names, teacher, period, date)

2.Partner A- explain the issue (who, what, where, when, why, how)

3. Partner B-the historical figure's reasons for taking a stand (how the situation and background influenced their position)

4. Partner B -the consequences that the historical figure faced

5.Partner A- a compare and contrast section of the historical figure's situation with that of Atticus Finch during the trial.

6.Partner A and B- Conclusion with an explanation of why you find this historical figure's stand significant. After this activity you should be able to Identify each historical figure and what they were fighting for.
