Success on the AP European History Exam is really a student centered project. My job is to teach you how to write and to guide you to the resources that will fill your brains with little tidbits of knowledge about European History. I cannot do the reading for you, nor should I have to tell you what you read by regurgitating facts in class. Class time is best spent discussing the broad themes and trends of history, and learning and applying the skills needed to be a good historian.

To Review:
1) I would begin by thoroughly reading the College Board AP website. Go over all of the Themes, The Exam, Sample Questions and Scoring and Grade Distribution.

2) Outline a schedule of study for the next 5-1/2 weeks to review.

2) Finish SV over spring break.

3) There is no great mystery to learning about European History. Reading is the key to content knowledge. The exam can cover ANYTHING between the dates specified. The more you read, the better off you will be. If you are looking for material, go to my website and start working through the pages. I have numerous readings linked on each core topic.

4) Make use of review guides. I have several to borrow and the internet is full of them.

5) Review your writing and visit some of the writing websites. What are the keys to good writing? They are the same for a research paper or an essay response. Strong thesis. Arguments supported by factual evidence. Ability to work with primary source material.

6) Become VERY familiar with the AP writing rubrics. Know them even if you don't love them. They are very specific in what they are looking for. Your writing does not have to be creative, and be be very formulaic, but must address the required elements.

7) BEGIN NOW!!!! See me when you have questions.
