GOAL:
The first goal of this unit is to learn how to properly research factual information gathered from the Internet and to learn how to properly site the information found. The second goal of this unit is to then use those research skills and develop a PowerPoint presentation.

OBJECTIVES:
1. You will be able to efficiently and effectively use the Google search engine to find credible websites to research factual information.
2. You will be able to efficiently and effectively research credible websites to find factual information about a topic.
3. You will learn how to correctly site your reference sources using the website www.easybib.com.
4. You will research information about a specific human body disease using the research skills learned.
5. You will make a disease PowerPoint presentation over the information you researched that will be presented to the whole class.

STANDARDS:

7.2.8.2 – Identify and describe at least one disease that affects each of the systems of the human body
7.2.9 – Explain and expand upon the knowledge of the human body system by conducting scientific investigations using appropriate equipment and technology to gather, organize, analyze, and interpret data
7.2.11 – Use scientific knowledge in oral and written communication to present scientific information
