Physical Education Class Basic class information Mr. Lebeda It is important students come prepared for class each day. In Physical Education we emphasize good hygiene to all the students. We ask K-5 students to bring light soled tennis shoes to class to help protect the floor. Students in 6-7-8 grades are asked to change into the school approved PE uniform, socks and tennis shoes. The item(s) checked below indicate an area of improvement is needed. Please contact Mr. Lebeda if you have any questions about the information below. Proper tennis shoes _________ PE uniform _________ Participation _____ Grade 6-8 All students must change clothes. A school approved PE uniform is recommended. A towel and deodorant should be considered. Our facilities are limited, but this will be a transition designed to educate our middle school students in healthy procedures to follow going into high school. We expect proper behavior while the students are dressing in the restrooms. Grading Procedures Students will be graded on a point system. Each class is worth 10 points not to include tests, skill activities, Or written assignments. 1-4 Participation 5-6 Following rules of class/good attitude/conduct 7-8 Proper uniform (PE) 9-10 Sportsmanship Students will be accountable for rules and guidelines for activities introduced. Sportsmanship will be assessed on self-control in working with students and instructors during class time. Demerits will be given for behavior out of control, entering storage room/office without permission, and any violation of the school rules. HEALTH (6-8) Health will be incorporated into Physical Education class throughout the year. At this time, the agenda is to meet twice a month and discuss issues that are prevalent to maintaining a healthy life style. Teacher and Student input will be taken into consideration throughout the year. K-8 Rules for P.E. Mr. Lebeda/Mrs. Jones 1. When Teacher/instructor is speaking, students are asked to listen 2. When you, the student, hear the whistle, STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN. 3. Students will walk to their squads when entering the gym, find their assigned spot and sit down quietly A. No student in storage room without permission. 4. NO rough play in class, on the playground, or in hallways while returning to class. 5. Students should ask teacher for permission to leave the gym during class or playground area. Students may not leave until permission is granted. 6. Students will show respect for other students, teachers, and visitors. 7. Everyone is expected to participate in class. A. A note from a parent stating the reason why the child cannot participate in class and for how long. B. Class must be made up per instructor. Grades 5th-8th 7. Be aware of the fire/tornado drill procedure for class. 8. Physical and verbal abuse will not be tolerated. Bullying will not be tolerated and a procedure is addressed in the handbook. 9. Mr. Lebeda and Mrs. Jones will follow the discipline procedures in each grade level. 10. Procedure for class: Walk in to gym and sit in assigned area Begin exercises as instructed by teacher Learn skill or activity |
