The 2 forces that break down Earth's crust are weathering and erosion.

Weathering- Breaking down of rocks into smaller pieces by natural processes.

Erosion- Picking up and removal of rock fragments and other particles.

These 2 forces work as a kind of balancing act. As land is lifted higher up, it is being broken down.
