RHMS School Council Minutes May 25, 2010 I. Mrs. Herndon called the meeting to order. II. Council members present: Judy Gulle, Helen Herndon, Sherry Oddi, Catherine Warren, and Carter Infinger. III. Mrs. Herndon led the Pledge of Allegiance. IV. Mrs. Warren read an inspirational poem. V. Agenda was approved. VI. Minutes for April meeting were approved. VII. There were no visitors present at the meeting VIII. Old Business: • Mrs. Herndon reviewed the School Council Annual Report. • Mrs. Herndon reviewed the Longitudinal Data for the CRCT scores for the past 7 years, and the scores were analyzed. • Elections: o Mrs. Herndon has nominations from Carver Elementary School. o Voting for parent representatives will take place during RHMS Open House next year. o Voting for teacher representatives will take place at the first faculty meeting at the beginning of the next school year. IX. New Business: • Calendar for meetings next year – Second Tuesday of month at 7:00 AM in room 209 o August 31, 2010 o November 30, 2010 o February 22, 2011 o April 26, 2011 o May 24, 2011 X. Parent Concerns • Mr. Infinger mentioned that parents were wondering about the criteria for students receiving subject area awards. It was suggested that the criteria be read prior to the announcement of the award winners. • Affect of tardies on perfect attendance was discussed. 3 tardies and/or early dismissals (excused or unexcused) will cause students to lose ”perfect attendance” status for the year (page 56 in the Handbook) XI.
