Scientists around the world have uncovered evidence of climate change in Earth's ancient past. Natural climate variability, as the name suggests, is caused by natural factors - like volcanoes - which emit greenhouse gases that warm the atmosphere. Greenhouse gas levels have dramatically increased more recently since the beginning of the Industrial Age. This webquest will help us distinguish between natural climate change (Natural variability) and man-made climate change (Global Climate Disruption). Assignment: Create a new document titled "Climate Investigation". (12 point Times New Roman Double-Spaced). SECTION 1 Two graphs are compared in this video. The first graph shows natural greenhouse gas emissions for thousands of years, the other shows greenhouse gases emitted by the burning of fossil fuels. They are both compared to observed temperature data. Which model fits the observed temperature data - the yellow or green curve? What are the "two things" the scientist states that this tells us? Discuss your findings.
