MATH MOMENTS We are currently working on Unit 1 in Everyday Math. Unit One focuses on learning to use our math tool kits, geometric designs, recording and counting with tally marks, and more-than and less-than number stories. GAMES YOU CAN PLAY AT HOME TOP-IT 2 players Materials Needed: Deck of cards with face cards removed Directions: Shuffle the cards and place them in a stack with the number side facing down. Each player takes a card from the top of the deck, turns it over, and says the number on the card. The player who has the larger number takes both cards. If the two cards show the same number, each player takes another card from the top of the deck. The player with the larger number then takes all the cards facing up. The game is over when all cards have been taken. The player with more cards wins. |
