First Grade students will be developing their sense of pitch and rhythm through the enjoyment of many singing games, creative movement activities and instrument playing experiences this term. They will learn how to recognize and perform 4, 8 and 16 beat rhythm patterns using “ta”, “ti-ti” and “ta” rest, and to apply this knowledge to composing.
MUSIC FIELD TRIP: We really enjoyed our unit on the "Nutcracker" because we were able to see a live performance at the Brooks Center in Clemson on December 10.
The first grade gave a fantastic performance of the play "Christmas Cookies and Holiday Hearts". Thanks to the Art Squad for our cookie costumes. Thanks to Mrs. Abbott for our bakers' hats. |
