Science Fair Timeline 2017


February 1, 2017
Today you have received the Science Fair information Please keep this packet in a safe place; you will not receive another one. Share it with your adults at home, read it together, then sign “Science Fair Contract” and return the form to me. The Science Fair is an independent project done at home. No time is allotted to work on it in school other than the citations, which will be done in school.

April 7 – Friday (or any time before this date)
Your project title, hypothesis, and the names of students working on the project are due. Pass in your information on the index card provided. Only two students may work together on the project; individual projects preferred.

April 13 – Thursday (or any time before this date)
If you would like to have your report reviewed before the Science Fair it must be turned in by today. All reports will be returned to the student on the Wednesday after vacation with any suggestions or corrections so you can earn the best grade possible. The only graded part of Science Fair is the report; do your best work!

April 28 - Friday
Your written report is due. Projects should be completed but left at home. At this point in time student should be done with all Science Fair work. Math MCAS is Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 4; students should not be working on projects during testing time.

May 4 - Thursday
Bring in your project in the morning – the back door will be opened at 8:15AM.

May 6 – Friday
Judging will be done by the Peabody Municipal Light plant in the morning. Family and friends are invited in the afternoon – the time will be announced. All projects must be removed from the school by the end of the day. Leftover materials will be thrown away at the end of the school day.

May 2017 - TBA
Science Fair Awards Ceremony - date, time, and location TBA. Winners will be given an information packet. Contact Peabody Municipal Light Plant if you have any questions.
