Fourth Grade

St. Elizabeth School

Welcome to the 4th grade website!
Meet Your Teachers

Ms. Kelly Crawford

I grew up here in Kansas City and have attended Catholic schools my entire life. I went to elementary school at Visitation, where Mrs. Nickel was my vice principal during my Kindergarten year! For high school I attended St. Teresa’s Academy and am extremely thankful for the excellent education I received there. The single-sex atmosphere allowed me to fully concentrate on learning and grow into an independent woman.

I am an avid reader and you might notice the many children’s books in my classroom. I have always enjoyed books and have accumulated quite a collection to share with my students. I am also a devoted fan of the Chiefs and Royals, and I’m sure my students will be quick to see that during the season!

For college I attended Rockhurst University, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. During my student teaching semester I had the opportunity to teach alongside Mrs. Quatman and Mrs. Lancaster here in the 5th grade. That experience really showed me how wonderful St. Elizabeth’s truly is, and from there I have set my eyes on being a part of this community.

In the spring of ’04 I was asked to become a permanent substitute for Miss Mary Aldaco’s Pre-Kindergarten class and remained there for the following two years as Miss Kelly. While I really enjoyed the time I spent in the ECC, I always wanted to be able to teach an older grade.

In August of 2007 I began working toward my Master’s Degree in Elementary Math and Science at Webster University. This wonderful opportunity has been given to me thanks to the Diocese and The Kauffman Foundation, and I feel so blessed to be able to expand upon my education as a teacher.

Mrs. Erica Fritz

I was born April 1, 1981 to Bill and Marni Baker. They raised my older sister, Allison, and I in Springfield, Illinois (home of Abe Lincoln). I grew up happily and enjoyed participating in many activities such as playing the piano and French horn, playing soccer, running cross country and cheerleading. I was also a part of a fantastic youth group that taught me a lot about what is means to follow Christ.

I attended college at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri where I earned my B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Elementary Education. In addition to my studies, I kept busy in Campus Christian Fellowship, Wind Symphony, Orchestra, and intramural soccer. During that time, I decided that I just HAD to live in Kansas City after visiting a few times.

My first teaching job was at Melcher Elementary where I taught 5th, 3rd and 1st grade during the two years I was there. I also met my husband shortly after moving to KC. We were paired up to teach Sunday school together and ended up getting married about a year and a half later! David is an elementary music teacher at Indian Creek Elementary.

I’m now excited to begin my second year teaching 4th grade at St. Elizabeth. Not only because it’s a great school, but I can also walk to work now!
