RHMS School Council Minutes November 30, 2010 I. Mrs. Herndon called the meeting to order. II. Council members present: Helen Herndon, Dallas Daniel, Judy Gulle, Sherry Oddi, and Catherine Warren. III. Catherine Warren read an inspirational reading. IV. Mrs. Herndon led the Pledge of Allegiance. V. Minutes were read by Mrs. Oddi. VI. Mrs. Gulle made a motion to approve the minutes, and Mr. Daniel seconded the motion. Minutes were approved as read. VII. PTSO meeting is Dec. 7 at 6:00. Prior to the PTSO meeting at 5:00 in the media center, parents will vote for the one year parent representative for the School Council. VIII. Ms. Gulle made a motion to approve the agenda, Mrs. Warren seconded the motion, and the agenda was approved. IX. No visitors were present X. New Business: • Exam schedule is December 14, 15, and 16 with a make up day on the 17th. • Benchmark tests will take place after the students return from the holidays. • Race to the Top – there may be changes in the second indicator for AYP. • The District passed a bullying policy. • BRIDGE – 8th grade orientation for GA College 411. RHMS will be working with the 8th grade students to familiarize them with this program. • New middle school may be ready July 2011. The architect was here on November 19 and met with teachers to discuss needs for the new school. • BETA Club officers went to a conference in Macon. • Girls’ tennis team won the league. • Basketball season begins tomorrow, Dec. 1. • Fall Sports Award Banquet is for football, softball, and tennis. Winter sports include basketball and cheerleading. Spring sports include soccer, track, golf, and baseball. • BETA Club induction will take place tonight. Attire for the ceremony was discussed. XI. Mrs. Gulle moved to adjourn the meeting; Mrs. Herndon seconded the motion, and the meeting was adjourned. XII. Next meeting will be at 7:00 AM in room 209 on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. |
