BEREAVEMENT AND GRIEF SUPPORT: GENERAL INFORMATION

GRIEF AND BEREAVEMENT

"You don’t have to grieve alone...We are here to help..."

St. Therese Parish wishes to reach out as a community of love and healing to those who are grieving a loss. A healthy bereavement process can strengthen and deepen one’s faith and enable a person to claim the Resurrection of Jesus.

Whether you are grieving the death of a spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend or colleague, the Pastoral Care Ministry desires to provide you with opportunities to remember and celebrate that person’s life, as well as to work on your own grief issues.

Grieving involves so much more than planning and attending the funeral and burial. With this in mind, our ministers of care may write and/or call to offer support. We will do our best to provide you with the resources you may need to help you make healthy adjustments to the many changes that occur in your life following the death of a loved one As you move through the stages of mourning during the first year following your loss, we hope you find comfort and strength from our outreach.

For more information, contact either Ginny in the Pastoral Care Office (816-741-2800, ext. 218).

“I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
